Well, it's Easter break and I'm home for a couple days, so I figured I'd get an update in here as to what has been going on as of late. As a way to show that things are changing like crazy, tomorrow I go to a tux fitting for Pope's wedding in August. How ridiculous...but I get to be the best man, so I'm really excited to give a toast.
School has been pretty interesting as of late. I've been busy with a bunch of things all coming together at once, but I have been doing well in my classes, and things are just going well in general. I know that's pretty vague, but I doubt anyone wants to hear about my Spanish classes, or what happens in the story El Gesticulador. Our times in Mission have been insane as of late, and I can't really imagine living anywhere else. Unfortunately, we had a HUGE St. Patty's day party last Saturday, and we had hyped it up for weeks. Now, I say "unfortunately" because between 10 and 10:30 probably close to 200 people showed up. Our basement was half filled, and there was a line up the basement steps and out the front door. Now, apparently everyone just descended down the street from campus to our place, and at some point, someone had to be a douche and throw a bottle at a house. So at like 10:40, with the party hoppin', everyone getting pretty drunk, and everyone just having a great time...the cops roll in. Now, the Juniata police are fine, and Huntingdon was there with them, and they didn't really care that much about the party. Unfortunately, they got called about the noise and such, so they had to make everyone leave. This was unfortunate because everyone was so excited and having a good time. However, some people commented that the 1/2 hour that they had of our party was awesome hahaha. Of course, following our style, we're obviously having another party, and I'm sure the cops will show up, but oh well. Mission has been resurrected this year by all of us, and everyone who is anyone at JC knows it's the place to be (as long as you don't throw bottles at neighbors' homes). After the party, I went to another party and was really drunk, and just told everyone how much I hated our neighbors and that our party was way better than the one I was actually at hahaha, what a class act.
I bought an XBOX360 and just play NHL 2008, which bascially dominates my life. I'm not mad about it, though, and I really am glad I'm back in the video game scene. Haney plays Halo 3 all the time and is obsessed with that, and I must say, I really like the game, too. Other than all of that, I guess Mission is pretty normal.
This past week I went with Haney and Karla and Matt and Jake to LuLu's Nightspot in State College to see The Starting Line, Bayside, Four Year Strong, and Steel Train. I would give this show a 7/10. Steel Train was good, but they're little-known right now (not their fault), so it was hard to really get into them. Four Year Strong was absolutely insane, and everyone went crazy when they played. I think I was moved with the crowd all around the dance floor, and everyone was moving and going insane for their show. They got a 10/10. Bayside was really good too, but they played a lot of stuff from their new album, which I haven't really listened to that much. They got an 8/10. The Starting Line was actually the disappointment of the show. I went to mainly see Four Year Strong and Bayside, but I've seen The Starting Line several times, and they're usually really good. However, they played for over an hour, played a lot of slow stuff, and a lot of new stuff I haven't heard, so they kind of killed the energy, but they still put on a decent show. I'd give them a 7/10. I just wasn't feeling them, but I also was tired and had a cold which resulted in a horrible headache, so I guess TSL should get a free pass on this one haha. Overall, it was a great time.
As for this break, it's going pretty well so far. I hung out at Dean's last night and tonight, and it was pretty fun. We played Taboo both nights, and everyone just got caught up on everything that was going on. Last night was hilarious because Abby was barking nonstop and Dean's mom turned to her out of nowhere and just screamed "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!" It was probably one of the funniest moments of my entire life. Other than that, I've just been watching March Madness (way to go San Diego, Siena, Davidson, and Western Kentucky...what a great Day 2) and taking it easy.
Well, I guess that about sums up life as of late, but it wouldn't be a post without a song...I might have put this one in a previous entry, but they performed this live at LuLu's and it was insane...
Four Year Strong
"Bada Bing! Wit' A Pipe!"
Roll with the punches
Because you know that it’s inevitable
Soon to be unforgettable, yet, totally unpredictable
I’m either calling it quits or you’re calling me out
Its not who or what you know because you’re better with nothing at all.
Sing it back to me; this is your life story
You didn’t even know it you’re trying not to blow it
Because you’re kicking back a death wish and here I am just riding out the storm
Believe me when I say that I want to give up
I want to give up but it's bad enough to keep me hooked
just to watch you curse my name and toss and turn
Turn around and cross the line you so casually walk between function and fashion
Are you dressed to kill or dressed to impress?
Don’t act like you can do better than this.
Let me see you put your hands upon the stereo
It's spitting out a ridiculous frequency
But turn it up turn it up
Break a sweat
Cause we're just burning up and hitting up the scene that was ours to hit up
Take take me out because I'm ready for your best shot
Make make me out to be a bullet from the pulpit
Or anything that would make you believe
All that we've seen would be just another scene
That was ours to hit up
Play it back for me, if you feel you've got to
Do you want to call it intuition
Cause after intermission we’ll be flashing the house lights
To let you know that we’re back in action
Simply for your satisfaction
Turn around and cross the line you so casually walk between function and fashion
Are you dressed to kill or dressed to impress?
Don’t act like you can do better than this
Turn around and cross the line you so casually walk between function and fashion
Are you dressed to kill or dressed to impress?
Don’t act like you can do better than this

But turn it up turn it up
Break a sweat
Cause we're just burning up and hitting up the scene that was ours to hit up
Take take me out because I'm ready for your best shot
Make make me out to be a bullet from the pulpit
Or anything that would make you believe
All that we've seen would be just another scene
That was ours to hit up
Roll with the punches
Because you know that it’s inevitable
Soon to be unforgettable, we're either calling it quits or you’re calling me out

Roll with the punches
(you’re better with nothing at all.)

Hope this entry finds everyone else doing well, too. Later Days!
