This song is my new theme-song. I would like to thank Bryan James for introducing me to it a while back.
The Darkness
"Friday Night"
Hey you!
Do you remember me
I used to sit next to you at school
We indulged in all the extra-curricular activites
We weren't particularly cool
Monday cycling
Tuesday gymnastics
Dancing on a Friday night
I got Bridge Club on Wednesday
Archery on Thursday
Dancing on a Friday night
Hey you!
Could you ever fall for me
The way I fell for you
And do you dwell upon the thoughts that I occupy
Or do you give yourself things to do?
Monday rowing
Tuesday badminton
Dancing on a Friday night
I got ping pong on Wednesday
Needlework on Thursday
Dancing on a Friday night
With you, with you
Monday, Tuesday
Wednesday, Thursday
Dancing on a Friday night
Let the music smother me
Whole weekend recovery
Dancing on a Friday night
See the lady I adore
Dancing on the dancing floor
Dancing on a Friday night
God, the way she moves me
To write bad poetry
Dancing on a Friday night
With you.
This song is incredible, and it reminds me of easier times. The lyrics are easy-going and the song is catchy in general. This post is just a wrap up of what has been a mediocre spring break. No wild parties, no girls flashing people on GGW, no trips to the beach. I don't need all that stuff to have a good time, but this break was lacking activity. Megan and I hung out a lot last weekend and Monday/Tuesday. She left for Erie on Wednesday for Regional Orchestra, so I've been bored without her. Last night was a good night, however. Jon Imler and I hung out at his house and watched Villanova-WVU and NC State-Wake. It was a good time just hanging out and catching up with Jon, he's one of the best friends I've ever known. Haha it's ironic, because when I first met him, I thought he hated me. Then we went to Meadows to talk to Dick, since Jon and I are both returning for one final summer. Yes, you heard it here first, Dan Bowser is returning to Meadows for one last summer. Jon is not living in Hollidaysburg next summer, so it's our last summer together at The Shack. With this in mind, if Jon doesn't return, I can't either, because it'll be too gay without him there. Also, I need cash, so that's the main reason I'm returning. Tonight Megan comes home, so I'm hopefully gonna get to see her. I'm also hanging out with my uncle and eating some pizza. Tomorrow I think I'm gonna go visit Joan in the hospital before I go back to JC. She had a heart attack and I need to visit her, mainly because she is one of the coolest ladies I've ever known. Well that's pretty much a wrap for Spring Break '05. I am excited for the end of school which is May 11. After that, let the good times of Hollidaysburg Summer '05 begin. It's gonna be one for the ages. Stay cool and take it easy, all my loyal fans. As JP would say, "Hasta."
