Wanting The Sparkly I-iii-vi-V
So I've decided that whatever else to think of them, my parents have really good taste in Music.
I should have brought my laptop to their house last week to add more of their collection to mine, but 1) my four-year old acting-as-a-desk-top-because-it-never-leaves-my-desk computer is so heavy and a pain to carry through airports, 2) that is technically stealing and if I love that Music that much, I should show my true appreciation and buy it... I should not have ended my Rhapsody account when I came to college... except that that database is limited... In the words of my friend the Daimyo of Go, "I want ALL the Music."
Also, reading Daniel Levitin makes me want to forget hard core Science and follow his footsteps instead... or apply to his lab for grad school and move to Canada and study the evolutionary psychological importance of Music... *sigh*

You know, as much as I love the whole Rock-Authenticity ideal (acoustic guitars, no funky effects, etc), I do so love sparkly power pop, too... Ah, I'm doomed, I know, but I can't be a hippie in all aspects of my life, can I? But at least, with my opposing preferences, I can honestly say that I want ALL the Music!
And I find it fantastically ironic that I'd rather listen to a motivating song than actually read the next chapter for Organic Chemistry.
