Some of the female artists who steal too much of my time and attention recently. Basically how my art-mood lately manifests itself.
Rasputina - I've known them like forever but for some reason I enjoy their music so much more these days. Not all of the songs I like, but many of them are truly phenomenal. The music has exact a sort of energy that feels perfect to me, but I enjoy the lyrics even more. Exceptionally intense if (or partly because) apparently nonchalant, detached and cynical even.
Dorota Masłowska - Our genius if scandalous enfant terrible of literature. People either love her or hate her. Her writing is vulgar, ridiculously incoherent and grotesque, but at the same time hilarious, sharp and deeply insightful. At the core it's depressing as hell, but it's just too much fun to notice mostly. I've just bought and have read her dramas with a wonderful A Couple Of Poor, Polish Speaking Romanians. The movie based on her Polish-Russian War Under the White-Red Flag is one of the best I've seen in years. The titles are entirely misleading.
fleshflutter - "and now for something completely different". Unique is probably more fitting. I don't know how she does it, it's "only" fanfiction and it messes with my brain's chemistry like you wouldn't believe. Once I felt literally high all day after reading one of her stories. Huh. Her writing is disturbing really and something I don't actually consider my thing mostly. It's brilliant nevertheless, in so many ways.
