Lake Berryessa

I joined my parents and a couple friends on a jet skiing trip up to Berryessa. I know I have always been "anal" about planning ahead for trips I set up and knowing where I am going. Yesterday was proof that I am that way for a reason. I assumed, based on previous experience, that the trip had already been mapped out. I was wrong! It took us almost three hours to get there (due to being lost on multiple accounts). When we finally made it there, it was lovely! The weather was perfect and the water was about 78-80 degrees. I haven't jet skied for a while and had forgotten how much fun it can be. Unfortunately, toward the end of the day, the battery in the jet ski went kaput. To add to the fun, a ranger had decided to block the launch ramp early (supposed to close at 8 but instead closed it at 6:45ish). Needless to say, the jet ski was stuck in the water and we couldn't drive the car down the launch ramp to set it back up on the trailer. I made the suggestion that we remove the trailer from the car, walk it down the ramp (the trailer was just narrow enough to fit between the poles that block normal vehicles), swim the jet ski to the ramp, and load it ourselves. We triumphed! Using all five pairs of hands, we were able to load the jet ski and push it up the ramp where it made it's way back to the car. Phew! Where there is a will there is a way!
