Soooooooo, apparently a cake and a photographer are "ridiculous luxuries meant  for rich girls", according to my father. I got yelled at for fifteen minutes on how "ridiculous" I am and how "stupid" this whole " useless wedding crap" is and how I am "crazy" to think that a father would be interested in any of this

Hey, since I wont be able to come to your wedding and still need to get you a wedding gift can I buy your cake for you? Do you have a bakery picked out and an idea of what you want? how many people atttending? Good cakes are wicked expensive, Id love to be able to do that for you if you would let me. =)

I mean it, once you figure out what bakery you are using, give me their information so I can give them a call and Ill make arrangements with them, you just go see them and pick out whatever you want.

a) I am still in shock. This is so incredibly nice of you, but...
b) the bakery would be in Puerto Rico, so I can't go to it. All the info I could get would be coming from my sister whom is there. So far when I have asked her to look around for what I want she has said "things are so expensive here, I don't know, I don't know". That scares me. You are so generous in your gesture but I really have no idea what the prices are like, so I am scared to accept something that would end up being ridonculously expensive because then I would feel horrible, and you would feel awkward and I value our friendship too much to let it get weird. (well, weird again, especially now that it is completely non-weird and has been so for over a year. That's important, you know? I'd rather eat wedding oreos.) I mean, granted, it's only a cake for 30 people but aaaarrgh I'm too neurotic to even process this because I have NO idea what I'm talking about.

B. I know it would be in Puerto Rico =) And I know how much wedding cakes cost which is why I am offering. I want to do this for you, I am in the position to do it and it would make my year to be able to make your wedding a little more special.
Im telling you that its alright to pick out a 500.00 to 800.00 cake and you are going to let your friend Amanda pay for it. =)

Just give me some info on where to give my billing info to once you talk to your sister and finalize a bakery.
