blogging lite with tons of photos
I attempted to post a very fluid and colorful blog a week or so ago, filled with anecdotes, photographs and updates. I was having a particularly shitty day and was practically attracting negativity to the point where when I hit "preview & post" I SOMEHOW erased the whole thing. Due to that frustration, what you have now is a mismatched clusterpoo of photos and updates. Enjoy.
First of all, meet Smart Mass. Mine is "Dark Matter" which is a shiny black and slightly magnetic. This stuff is like silly putty on steroids.
At some point last week Matt and I went to "fresh", a relatively new restaurant downtown. Like most of the really good downtown fare, it is only open M-F 11-3, which means I now hate the bastards for feeding me the best.sandwich.ever that I can't have again unless I skip work.
Best. Sandwich. Ever.
Then at another point last week Matt and I went to Findlay Market and bought insane amounts of fresh fruit including blackberries, black cherries, nectarines, mangoes, etc. Armed with his mother's cobbler recipe I set out to make the yummiest.cobbler.ever. At the end of the day it had nectarines, blackberries, cherries, peaches, mangoes and strawberries for good measure. I added a ground-almond and brown sugar crumble to the top and Voila!
I even let it cool by the window a la Suzie Homemaker.
On another random day the kitties slept in a pseudo yin-yang position and it was too adorable to ignore.
And then we saw the Wienermobile.
Did I mention that our "save the date" magnets went out a bit ago?
If you didn't get one it is not because we do not love you. We are limiting the ceremony in Puerto Rico to family only (plus our best man/matron of honor) because we know that flying down to the island is not feasible for a lot of you. In order to keep things fair we will also have some sort of gathering somewhere within the continental US on 2.23.08. Want to celebrate with us? Drop me a line to make sure I've got you on the list, just in case.
In other news, I leave for Puerto Rico to deal with the wedding preparations on the 25th and will be gone through the 31st. I hope to take lots of lovely pictures to share with all of you. Please keep me in your thoughts, as things tend to get hectic and stressful the minute I get off the plane in San Juan.
