Christmas Break
Christmas break is pretty much the same as summer break, just shorter. it feels quite nice to have a break from work and school. i've been doing some reading. i love everything is illuminated, so i started to read it again. a bit more than halfway, i got quite depressed during probably my favorite chapter, so i've taken a break. i read blue like jazz and loved it. now, i'm about halfway done with jonathan strange and mr norrell (for the second time) which is quite good, considering that i got it on friday and it's an over 800 page book. after that, i have the ladies of grace adieu (and other stories) by the same author. i missed reading.
so that is my book history. i got my grades, my GPA is still pretty good. it's sad that i was happy to get a B- in philosophy. i am normally quite disappointed with a grade like that, but that class was a struggle for me. here's to the end (almost) of core classes!
i only had one breakdown over break. this occurred during the depressing chapter of everything is illuminated. i'm fine now, though. i just get restless.
andrew comes on thursday! i'm totally excited. it is lonely without him. his family will be in london again while we're in college, so i might go there again, which is awesome!
i had a realllly fun new year's eve. a bunch of us (the FFV, two boyfriends, and a friend of a boyfriend) went to the beach and lit off fireworks and such. we had crazy good fireworks, which was nice. it was just a fun time. except the part of the morning when mary, lis, and i woke up to a surprise. jackee and sarah took a big pot, stuck firecrackers in it, lit it, and put it in our room. it was loud and smokey and neasty.
I heart my macbook. It is amazing how much better it works than the dell i had.
A week from saturday is my birthday party. i'm soo excited. it will be one classy event.
