To post, or not to post. That is the Spander question

I've not really written much Spander.

I write a lot of BBC Sherlock fics, long and short, one shots, PWPs and longer series but my Spander, despite the pairing being my original OTP for about 15 years, is rare.
I've written two shorts and that's it.

And do you know why?
Well, the bar is bloody high!

Awwww honey, I wanted to talk with you for hours too, but I didn't want to bore your boy with all the squee-ing and 'Have you read?' and 'You MUST read X!' It was wonderful meeting another Spander-aholic :-) I got a bit burnt at my first James thing, when EVERYONE was Spuffy and my ship was utterly dismissed. I'd come from Torchwood, where anything is allowed (ok, Gwack is a bit frowned on, but no-one's ship is shot down), so it was a bit of a shock to have so many people attempt to sink it for a nice (straight - coincidence? Maybe not) canon ship. Pshaw! F**k canon!

As for your fic, I am DESPERATE to read it :-) So post whenever you are comfortable. I'd rather have the fic finished and the muse happy than one that is left open for ages :-)

We have the internet! We can stay in contact through that :-) Sleaford isn't that far from me, we could always manage a sneaky meet in Notts at some point ;-)

I'm intrigued about the idea of Spander-dar. I firmly believe in queer-dar and kink-dar, so may there is a ship-dar :-) And yes, I've never understood why people get passionate about canon ships, cos it's easy :-) Far better to comment on and wibble about all the incidental things that make a non-canon ship (that look when that girl says 'Has everyone here slept together?' for one).

Have fun writing. Who knows, maybe I'll beat my TW fic into a semblence of shape this weekend :-)

Oh god, yes. Nancy!! Syfy channel drives me crazy because every time they re-screen that episode, they edit that bit out! I scream at the TV every time!

Ok, Sleaford to Notts... I am deffo up for that! I can get the train to Nottingham from Sleaford. (In fact, I have to when I arrive from East Mids - I will actually be in Nottingham on 30th September for a few hours!)

Anyways, I'm sure you're busy with work 'n' stuff.

Really absolutely MUST meet and thrash out this whole mutual Spander love-ness sometime though!

Rubbish :-) Am at home, reading fic and wittering on the interwebs :-) 30th may well be do-able *waggles eyebrows* We should talk times etc :-)

And Syfy's editing is utter pants! You miss HUGE chunks of plot thanks to them. But then they also use the term 'The following show contains scenes of mild peril' which always makes me laugh!
