A real post

Bah I say to all you nay-sayers who claim that I never actually write anything here.

So what's been going on recently? I'd like to say lots but it'd be a complete lie, I've really done very little.

The search for a new job continues but as of yet I haven't heard anything back from any of the places that I've applied to so everything there is up in the air still. It's actually really frustrating not knowing where I'm going to be living in the future purely because of the nature of the work that I do and the fact that I'll need to move again when I do find a job.

Of course there is always the other option of just giving up on this whole games industry thing altogether and trying something else but that not only feels like a complete cop out given the effort I went to to get into the industry in the first place and it is something that I do really enjoy doing. On the upside though I would get to then decide where it was I actually wanted to live and move there instead of my work deciding.

In other news I've found myself in a really funny mood in general, partly I think due to the work situation but also due to recent changes in my mother's health. As of today I know a bit more about what's going on there though, which is a good start as the not knowing what was happening was far worse. All that said, I'm aware that it was far worse for her not knowing either but that is still little comfort when you're trying to deal with it yourself. So I'm off to Ireland on monday to go spend a week or so out there before returning to the joys of job hunting.

And finally I'm probably fitter than I've been in a good few years due to getting down to the gym every other day and not being in any rush to cook. I've also decided that vegetable soup is really tasty as long as you don't get it out of a tin (and add some meat product of some kind to it) and goes exceptionally well with freshly baked bread.

Ok. That's it. See you all next year :P
