Sharp Objects and Their Effect on the Ocular Cavity

I wonder what it's like to be so blind
To hold things so close and then throw them away
And to have these things stare back at you
Mouth open, with nothing to say
You can't run away forever
Things will find their way back to you
But you'll keep on trying, like you always do

I shed a tear
And walk away from you
Because there's nothing there to hear me like you used to
And you'll fade
In time to something small
And you'll be all that's left to take the fall

It's strange how far we have to come
Just to make all the same mistakes once more
How we hold to destructive behaviors
And then wonder what the hell this is all for
I have held onto you
And I have watched you slowly die
Your decay is causing the start of all goodbyes

I shed a tear
And walk away from you
Because there is nothing there to hear me like you used to
And this will fade
Into something so small
And it will be like I never knew you at all
