So last night I get home from Montreal and my Mom tells me that she went to Home Depot this weekend and payed for the laminate flooring and tile that she is having put in. She also tells me that she has payed for it to be delivered. Stupid me says..."Delivered? why pay $60 for delivery when it's only a few boxes of flooring?" (in my head I was thinking about 15 boxes of laminate and 8 of tile, as was previously discused. So, always wanting to save money, off we go to Home Depot today to pick up the flooring. As we get to the store, she pulls out the bill and I notice that it has about a dozen items on it and think, what the fuck did she buy? I look at the bill. The 'flooring' that she bought actually consists of:
22 boxes of laminate floor
12 boxes of tile
1 bag of grout
1 box of grout
2 bags of flexibond (glue)
1 bucket of flexibond
17 sheets of plywood
5 rolls of underlay
5 reducers
5 tracks
1 tile edger
150 feet of baseboard
Now being that work at Home Depot and see orders like this all the time you'd think i'd have thought anout it and realized the amount of other materials that go into a flooring order. But I didn't. So 2 hours and 3 carts later we rented the Home Depot Van were on our way (thank God for lot associates to load our crap). The other downside? Unloading it all from the Van into the garage when we got home. Next time I'll let my Mom spend the $60 for delivery and save us all that work!!!
