okay, so i've tried to stay off of livejournal while i'm at work -- tried but FAILED, obviously. anyway, work ethic whatever. i've died about five times this week and it's only wednesday. helllp.
i did read harry potter last weekend -- well, sunday. i want to say that i'm finished with it, but i do this weird thing where i mark my place, and then have a second marker where i skip ahead a bit. and then i alternate reading between each marker. yeah, it's as ridiculous as it sounds, but at least i can delude myself further into thinking that the series is not over. is it too soon for a re-read? probably not of the epilogue, though, which gave me nightmares.
so last night i had a harry/ginny nightmare. for real. jk rowling had written an eighth book of the series, and it was all about harry and ginny saving folk aboard a giant cruise ship shaped like a sea serpent.
yeah.
at least when i woke, i had newfound appreciation for the epilogue, in that its sappiness was graciously contained within a chapter. no more children with retarded names, pls.
i can't wait to watch sytycd tonight! i usually have to find recaps and clips of the dances online since i'm one of those out-of-touch, non-tivo-owning people. i am really psyched to not have class or some other compulsory outing. couch potato-ness, ahoy.
(okay, that was super dorky. ahem.)
to divert attention from that, myself, a comment from my cousin while discussing the video game, oregon trail:
me: for some reason (-- or none) i was always the banker who couldn't ford the river for crap.
k: i know, and all the family would die.
me: YES -- what do you want to write on their tombstones?
k: john has died of chlamydia.
you get all kinds, on the trail.
