the time there was almost an executed prank. its lameness is beside the point.

on tv, to get this out of the way: the office is really great, but the scheduling is awful. seven-thirty on thursdays? come on. ugly betty is my favorite new show because oh man, i love america ferrera. i seriously do. i even cried during the premiere because apparently i can't watch anything america is in without crying. my dopiness is secure. i saw the show off of abc.com because you can watch eps for free! i totally will utilize this, as i can't remember when anything is on anymore. or i can't make it home in time. except for heroes. because even my mom who is a vehement tv hater wants to see hiro save the world.

tonight i decided to get me some khaki shorts. i know. so here my mom and i are in ross dress for less, and i find a pair of shorts for 6.99, which is good. because it's cheap, and now i am back to my khaki-ing ways. (haha, for years i refused to wear jeans because i was a preppy weirdo. now i can't wear jeans because it's too hot.) i am also not a fan of shopping anymore because i am poor, in addition to developing an aversion to crowds. not even a sales rack is worth braving for too long. i don't even know who i am anymore.

anyway, at the check-out, the lady was taking very long because she works at ross dress for less, wait for longer, and so these guys at the station next were comparing their couture steals (well, if tommy hilfiger counts) when the cashier gets a call and goes on loudspeaker. "i'm looking for a beau. please come to the nearest check-out counter." and well, of course, beau is one of the couture bag if tommy hilfiger counts guys. he sort of brushes back his really awesome curly hair and tells the lady she's been prank called. the lady is totally confused and tries to reason with beau, "no... i am looking for a nine-year-old boy. beau tosaka." and then i had to explain the punchline to my mother.

beau tosaka = boto sucker.

welcome to fifth grade everyone. your lexicon of dirty words will stay with you always.
