I've been taking an earlier bus to work since I uh, am attempting to be better organized, but I'm not sure if the benefits are quite outshining the detractors (sleep, how much I want you sleep). Also, I think an entire middle school piles on, which I'm still undecided about, i.e. Oh how quickly 'Hee, kids!' turns into 'Ugh, kids.' The only thing I can say with certainty is that I shouldn't read any more Sherman Alexie on public transport anymore because it never fails to end with me tearing up in a way that I reserve strictly for either Me Time or darkened theaters featuring Pixar films. Also, I finished my book and had nothing to read on my return trip. TRAGIC.
Anyway, I wanted to at least try to work on stuff for
westerosorting points this past weekend, but oh hey, that didn't happen. And it's still not, sorry sorry, I guess not really? Because here's a meme here instead.
1. First thing you wash in the shower?
If it's a shampoo day (I condition every day, but shampoo every 2-3 days), then that. Otherwise, I side with the starting-with-the-left-shoulder contingency.
2. What color is your favorite hoodie?
Honestly, I only own one hoodie (but I love it a lot!). It's a gray-blue color.
3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
Probably! There's been a lot of Family Gatherings lately, hence, the influx of kiss greetings.
4. Do you plan outfits?
I think about outfits a lot, especially when buying (this will match with this and this, etc etc). But I don't do enough planning, which becomes clear when mornings roll around and I am in a panic WHY ARE ALL MY PANTS WRINKLED? It's like a closet conspiracy against me.
5. How are you feeling RIGHT now?
Full. I had some of those Snyder's mustard pretzels that Mindy Kaling blogged about I don't remember when, but she was totally right about how freaking delicious they are. Dang.
6. What's the closest thing to you that's red?
My toenails!
7. Tell me about the last dream you remember having?
I've been having a lot of dreamless sleep lately. Weird! I used to have very vivid dreams.
8. Did you meet anybody new today?
I met several people, whose names I've already forgotten.
9. What are you craving right now?
A Tic Tac. The mustard-y pretzel aftertaste is not the greatest, I admit.
10. Do you floss?
Haha, I didn't realize that this was so rare. I uh, floss every night. I once got into an argument with a dentist (not my regular childhood dentist, who was the best ever) because she accused me of not flossing! Her very words were: "You don't floss, now do you?" accompanied by a condescending tut. My nine year old self had never been so insulted.
11. What comes to mind when I say cabbage?
Kalua pig.
12. Are you emotional?
I think I take things personally too often, but I'm not very emotional, no.
13. Have you ever counted to 1,000?
Maybe if I counted by 100s?
14. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it?
I usually have it in a bowl, so. Spooning it into my mouth, what?
15. Do you like your hair?
For the most part. We were at war for a long time until the Peace Treaty of Deep Conditioning was signed.
16. Do you like yourself?
Yeah. I think the most exciting thing about getting older is not worrying so much about personal things -- there are so many other things to spend that worry on, ha! That and the prospect of being able to get by on less sleep. I think my parents have turned into robots sometimes.
17. Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush?
Yes, but only if he was treating and I got to pick the place.
18. What are you listening to right now?
"Two More Years" by Bloc Party.
19. Are your parents strict?
They're more worried than strict -- I'm the youngest child. But they adhere to a certain set of notions. I have never brought a boy home in that meet the parents way. My sister only brought home two prospectives and she married the second one, so. That is not happening any time soon!
20. Would you go sky diving?
No way. True story: I cried on The Big Thunder Railroad at Disneyland. I didn't go on another roller coaster until I was sixteen.
21. Do you like cottage cheese?
Sure. I haven't had it in years, though, and... I haven't really missed it. There are so many other desirable dairy products, I'm afraid.
22. Have you ever met a celebrity?
I vaguely know some quasi-famous indie musicians from college? Oh, I did meet Harrison Ford when I was around six. My dad gave him a tennis lesson; Harrison gave me like a kite, lol. Sadly, its fate was that same old death by tree.
23. Do you rent movies often?
No. I had Netflix a couple of years ago, but it got to the point where a red envelope arriving in the mail was stressful, which, do not want, already have in good supply.
25. How many countries have you visited?
Hmm, I think four? Not counting the U.S.
26. Have you made a prank phone call?
No, because if Claudia and the Phantom Phone Calls taught me anything, it is that you only do that sort of thing if you're a dreamy/creepy teenage boy.
27. Ever been on a train?
Yes. I had some widely different experiences. Japan was like gold stars all around, but the worst motion sickness ever was on the dirt cheap student ticket from Adelaide to Melbourne. I wanted to die, but the people were too nice to do that to them.
28. Brown or white eggs?
The one that makes the best cakes?
29.Do you have a cell-phone?
Yes, but I am a bad phone-picker-upper. I'm better with texting, even if a phone call would be more direct and make more sense. But sense-making has always been a low priority.
30. Do you use chapstick?
Obsessively. I have one in every purse that I own. Sometimes two.
31. Do you own a gun?
Not in a million years. I didn't even hunt on Oregon Trail, I let my family starve instead.
32. Can you use chopsticks?
Yes, and there are certain foods that must be used with chopsticks!
33. Who are you going to be with tonight?
My dog. It's Tuesday and I'm tiiired.
34. Are you too forgiving?
Hahaha, no. I am able to act normally and politely around people who have Wronged Me, but I can't really forgive them if it's something that's cut deep down.
35. Ever been in love?
Not really.
36. What is your best friend(s) doing tomorrow?
Going to work. It will be Wednesday and we are tired.
37. Ever have cream puffs?
I have! But I don't care for desserts with filling, not especially.
39. What was the last question you asked?
Are you sad? Directed to my dog. He is never sad, and that is why I ask him this. I like happy answers!
40. Favorite time of the year?
Spring or Fall. The days aren't too short, and also mild and lovely.
41. Do you have any tattoos?
I am a wuss, so no. There's nothing really that I can think of that I'd want to commit to my skin forever either.
42. Are you sarcastic?
Your butt is sarcastic.
43. Have you ever seen The Butterfly Effect?
Did that have Ashton Kuchter? Then no.
44. Ever walked into a wall?
The wall walked into me.
45. Favorite color?
Green, I suppose. As a general color.
46. Have you ever slapped someone?
Across the face? No. I've played like clapping games. Down by the river where the grass is green!
47. Is your hair curly?
It is. I thought we went over this. Please refer to Hair, Me Coming to Terms With.
48. What was the last CD you bought?
I hardly ever buy CDs anymore. I think it was Mansions, actually, because you could get a free picture with purchase! Mine features stick figure decapitation.
49. Do looks matter?
Probably. But some aspect can look interesting, at the very least.
50. Could you ever forgive a cheater?
I don't think so. Forgiveness, I lack.
51. Is your phone bill sky high?
No. I am on mute.
52. Do you like your life right now?
I do. There are things that I'm working on, but I feel fortunate.
53. Do you sleep with the TV on?
No. I have trouble ungluing myself from my laptop as it is.
54. Can you handle the truth?
Yes. Lay it on me straight.
55. Do you have good vision?
It is not great, and I have reading glasses which I never use. Yet!
56. Do you hate or dislike more than 3 people?
Dislike, yes.
57. How often do you talk on the phone?
I don't think I talked on the phone at all today! I should probably check my voicemail, whoops.
58. The last person you held hands with?
Probably a small child of questionable hygiene, haha.
59. What are you wearing right now?
I'm wearing an old athletics shirt from my alma mater and red boxer shorts. My nighttime attire is exciting, uh, not so much.
60. What is your favorite animal?
Dogs! I am that crazy stranger who will ask you your dog's name.
61. Where was your default picture taken at?
My default icon is Rashida Jones. Do I need to say more?
62. Can you hula hoop?
I can, actually! Not as well as when I was a kid, but decently considering.
63. Do you have a job?
I do, for now. I am not in the most secure position, so I am trying to be flexible? Eep?
64. What was the most recent thing you bought?
Bubble tea.
65. Have you ever crawled through a window?
Yes: a car, a house, a dorm room, a dorm laundry room, there might be more, but I'll stop before my craziness is only more securely affirmed.
