WAAAHOOO!

Hooray monday's!

Had a great weekend. Shaun came up and we just vegged in the air conditioning all weekend. It was absolutley amazing! I missed him. :)

BTW, my bunny is hot. She vegged with us just sitting and being sexy under the couch.

Queens is having a few too many problems with power due to heat + a few other unknown circumstances. Last week somewhere around 25,000 people were out of power because of the extreme heat and the heavy rain and something else which Con Ed could not recognize. Most of them were without power for 9 days and I'm almost positive that there are still others without power now. A power outage hit on Saturday morning. Luckily, the only thing that it's affected for me was the lights being dimmer and the air conditioner being a bit slower. Thank God. Seriously, we are truly blessed not to have been out in that heat and to have our power through all of these power outages. I cross my fingers and pray that we won't get a huge power outage like those poor people down by Steinway.

Cause, honestly, if the power goes out(and it's going to push over a hundred this week) my rabbit will die. Unlike cats, bunnies have a hard time dealing with heat and I read an article which stated that many die from heat related incidents than sickness. Also, I'm at work. So if it does go out sometime during the day, I won't be there to help her out. This worries me immensley. But, I'm going to try and put my worrying aside and just pray and have faith.

Seriously, Brooklyn or the Bronx haven't dealt with this...so why Queens?

I think the biggest problem is the sheer size of New York(all of the 5 Boroughs) and just the fact that they are too large for their own good. Also, the fact that the main focus is on Manhattan and the surrounding areas become a very large gap of second priority. This sickens me because Manhattan shouldn't be diafied, in sorts. But it is. Because it's the "Big Apple". Personally, I dislike living in the "Big apple". I did it for a year and a half and the city made me depressed and wish for the suburbs. There's no room; people are on edge; it's EXTREMELY dirty; etc. Rent is too high and people, even though edgy, are too proud about this city. The city is great if you have money but, I believe, the boroughs are where the beauty is at. I love living in Queens. I came here and it just felt like home. Rent is cheaper; there are actual kids playing in the streets; cars are running through the streets smoothly instead of mile long traffic jams. And the honking! Oh that honking!

Basically, in my opinion, the city is better to visit than to live in. The frames of Manhattan are where, I think, the living situation is bumped up a few notches and people seem to care more about each other. Yet, the city is where all the care and comfort and monitoring of the State goes. Okay, not all but, good more than should be.

Wow, I just ranted. Haven't done that in a while.

I can hear Kristen coughing in the other room and boy, does she need to stop smoking.

HA! JUST KIDDING! Don't hate me! X3

Nah, FEEL BETTER KRISTEN!

3 more weeks till I'm out! AIIIIGGHHHTT!
