FFF YES. Shortly after this whole Ghost Rat thing got started, I spend a weekend in Bali and was thinking about how awesome the aesthetic would be for something in that world. (BTW, brancher and I both want a novel, a sourcebook, or both, FYI.)
I also had the initial thought of the Plains designs and clothing as kinda Ainu (here's a great example) or Jomon Japanese (think Princess Mononoke), but then you made clear that in clothing terms they are pretty close to Plains Native American tribes. Still, the Ainu thing might work...
As to Adrian, in that scene where he and Dan are chilling out on the balcony, he's wearing thin, white jong kraben-esque pant-things, bling, and eyeliner. Because that's how Adrian rolls.
So fabulous it makes his enemies explode at fifty paces. (Purple eyeliner? Because, well. Adrian. *shrugs*)
...Okay, so I am actually leaving on Tuesday to visit Angkor Wat for the second time, and it's going to be extra fun looking at the clothing and other assorted randomness with this kind of stuff in mind. And I don't know how the hell I forgot the fact that my husband put up a 350-picture Flickr set on Khmer clothing after our last trip, because that's the way WE roll.
