Well, Matt and I are going to be engaged for a year, and so it's looking like 2007 is going to be a very long year. I just got back from Matt's newly furnished apartment, where I was falling asleep on the couch and thinking about how much I will not enjoy this year. I anticipate many many painful assignments, and fights with my mum, and stressing about money, and getting angry at uni.
But stuff is going to be good too. I keep forgetting how many wonderful things will be happening. Here are some things about 2007 that are going to be new and exciting:
1. Felix the Youthgroup
I am one of the youthgroup leaders at church this year, and I am looking forward to it so much. It's going to be very different from St James, which is scary, but I guess that means that it is going to be very very challenging and interesting and a great time as well. Yay!!
2. Follow - Up: Semester 2
There is the second semester of serving on the Public Meetings team in the EU at uni. It is also going to be very very good. Want to know why? Come to EU Public Meetings at 1pm Tues Wed and Thurs when uni goes back. As long as you go to USYD.
3. Finishing my majors
This year's subjects are comprised only of Human Geography and Sociology subjects. I may be insane by the end of the year, but that's ok.
4. Scripture Classes
Matt and I have asked if we can teach scripture. I don't really know what we are getting into, because I haven't been in one of those since I was 12 and I have never taught one before. Yet another new and exciting thing to learn from.
5. Being engaged
Also a new thing for me.
6. Some sort of fun organised sport
I would like to play netball again. Also I would like to grace the halls of the Sydney Dance co. open classes. And if finances allow, it will be wonderful!
Obviously, the year is going to spit out lots of other unexpected challenges. That's ok. God willing, it will be a year of growth, not just for me, but for His kingdom. I'm very excited.
