Victory
There is a day and a half left of work before some of my annual leave kicks in and we head off to Tasmania.
The last couple of weeks - maybe even months - of work have been very full! I think I'm coping alright in terms of my emotional health and I've been drawing good boundaries around work so that I don't stay back too late and I remember to take lunch breaks. But my physical health is not as nice. It will be great to have a holiday to rest and recouperate.
The work itself has been really exciting and adrenalin-producing, especially with all these deadlines! Some of it has been positive-exciting and some of it has been negative-urgent. All of it has been very hard. But I've taken comfort throughout these months from this proverb that I read back in May:
The horse is made ready for the day of battle
but the victory belongs to the LORD
Proverbs 21:31.
All this time I have been reflecting on it as I work. When I am tempted to give up, I remember to "prepare the horse" and do my job well. When everything is overwhelming, I remember that victory belongs to the Lord alone. Praise Him.
