Part One: Weekend in the Hunter
Our friend Gus took Matt, myself and our friend James away to the hunter to help him mind his grandparent's property in the Hunter Valley. It was wonderful!
Part Two: Week in Kangaroo Valley
It was supposed to be a relaxing and recharging week away to set me up for the rest of the year, but it didn't really go according to plan. Insane gale force winds left us with two blackouts, one going for more than 24 hours. It was still pretty fun but we spent way too much money on food because all the groceries we had bought spoiled and we ended up having to eat out many times instead. By the end of the week it looked like a cyclone had ripped through the area, minus the rain. Highlights included playing cards by firelight, hanging out in Bowral public library to recharge our phones (they were our only light source during the blackout other than the fire and one candle), running into old family friends, discovering a waterfall and eating authentic country Chinese food in Nowra.
Of course, limited access to power meant limited photos!
