I have three or four complete live journal posts pent up in my brain, but I haven't had the time over the last few weeks to transcribe them onto the computer.
My mum has become a teacher librarian, which is pretty exciting. She finally has a permanent job at a school, her first since she started having kids, which means she will remain where she is til she retires. I think she is excited about that. She makes a good librarian. She has been sent to study a postgrad course by correspondence through Charles Sturt University about library skills, the role of libraries in schools and using and teaching technology. Most times I see her she has something else to say about the dangers of the internet, and the problems with Facebook, etc. She also talks about social trends, for example as people get older and busier, they are less inclined to use social networking services. I get that. Maybe it is happening to me. Although that is kind of sad, I like writing here.
It's a Monday, and I am writing from home, because I am not at work. I have stopped working at the newsagency on weekdays, which frankly is very liberating. The aim is to work more at Anglicare, and also to have some free time to be a student. There is no way I could have kept up my summer workload over the semester. The semester is kicking off this week, with O-Week. I am very excited! In fact, I am about to go in to uni now and do some things to prepare for a very hectic couple of weeks :) It is going to be wonderful.
Yep, going to do that now.
Expect a more informative and interesting entry soon. Maybe to reflect on O-Week or something.
