# Starting Spain Team against England

Feb 07, 2007 12:42

Here's the line-up team for Spain for tonight's international friendly against England:

Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos, Pablo, Carles Puyol, Joan Capdevila,David Albelda, Andres Iniesta, Xavi, David Silva, David Villa and Fernando Morientes.

Apparently, Fernando Torres is called back into the squad but he won't be starting along with Xabi Alonso and Cesc Fabregas. =\

Spain boss Luis Aragones has announced his team to face England in their friendly at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.

Arguably his most interesting selection is that of Fernando Morientes who will partner Valencia team-mate David Villa in attack.

The former Liverpool man has edged out Atletico Madrid star Fernando Torres who is making his return to the international fold.

Elsewhere the team is largely as expected with another Valencia player, David Silva, maintaining his place in midfield.

There are no starting places for any Premiership-based players, with the likes of Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas and Xabi Alonso of Liverpool missing out.

Tell me what is wrong in the world of Luis Aragones? As far as I'm concerned, I'm sure Xabi and Cesc are the best midfielders for their EPL clubs and I'm still puzzled as to why Aragones is not starting them. Sigh.
