Go Cubs Go!

May 29, 2007 20:17

Yesterday was pretty much the most exciting day since I've been home.  Dad got Cubs tickets for me for my birthday, and yesterday was game day! Wrigley was incredibly crowded, and I felt kind of bad for my grandma at some points because she was having a tough time getting throught the crowds, but I had a fantastic time.

The Cubbies game was pretty lacking until the 9th inning when it was definitely exciting.  But our seats were pretty awesome (section 139) and the weather turned out to be gorgeous - sunny and really warm. I even kind of got sunburn! And even though we lost (grrrr, if only you hadn't struck out, Aramis), it was still so much fun to see the game, to people watch, to see the ceremonial first pitch (incredibly moving. It was thrown out by a veteran from Rolling Meadows who only has his right arm left) and the bald eagle fly into the stadium during the national anthem, to eat hot dogs and peanuts and drink lots of soda in souvenir cups (only one more year until Old Style!), and just to be at the ballpark.

I had a fantastic time. I can't wait until I get to go again in July!!
