I will go where You lead me
I was disappointed when I found out that I wasn't chosen for the summer camp job, but that feeling only lasted a short while before I thought, "That just means God has another plan for me this summer and I am excited to find out what it is."
I just received this e-mail today:
*ALL "alternates" are receiving this letter via hard copy in the mail, however we are emailing the top 6 (you) to communicate that every year, we experience cancellations and staff members who end up declining the position offered to them. Due to the abundant number of applicants, we KNOW there are extremely qualified candidates on our alternate list, so we will be contacting you as cancellations take place and your specific qualifications fit needed openings on teams.

Dear CHWC Applicant,
Thank you very much for your application to be on staff with Catholic HEART Workcamp. It was impressive to read over your thoughts and answers to the questions. We had an overwhelming number of people apply to be on summer staff. It was a difficult process; we received so many outstanding applications. We had 145 people apply for staff; unfortunately there were only 84 staff positions available. At this time we have placed you on an alternate list. If someone is unable to accept their position you will be notified of an opening.
Many factors were involved, such as drivers, male/female ratio, personalities, etc.
This was not an easy process for our selection team. We realize this may be disappointing for you because it was obvious you spent a lot of time, prayer and reflection on your application. Thank you for the time and energy you put forth. Trust that God knows where He would like you to be this summer. His plan is always pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2).
Thanks again for your desire to serve with CHWC. May the Lord lead you.

It's still a possibility that I will end up traveling with them this summer, but even if I don't, that's okay because God has a plan for me, and He knows where my heart needs to be this summer. I will follow wherever He leads me.
It's a wonderful feeling to trust such an Awesome God.
