(no subject)
So today has been.... interesting! Eventful! Wet!
We're driving along, on the highway into Ocala, which is like almost an hour from home. We're driving into the RAINPOCALYPSE. It's very moist, because we do not have a/c so the windows were down, which, you know, whatever, a little rain is fine. And then? The windshield wipers die a spectacular motor-death, complete with crazy screaming/groaning noises and everything.
So there we are, with the windshield being eaten alive by RAINPOCALYPSE, and in MULTIPLE LANES OF TRAFFIC, and so we pull off into the turning lane / median... and sit for like twenty minutes, windows up because now it's like flooding the friggin' car (not really, but very very wet!), and I occupy myself with peeling the destroyed film off my window in an effort to pretend the air doesn't feel like it'ss disappearing / the car isn't getting smaller / etc.
Then we try to drive a little, and make it to the far right lane and pull off in th first driveway-type thing, because, uh, RAINPOCALYPSE. So we sit another fifteen minutes or more. Mom says we're close to her old work, and so we try again when there's a big lull in traffic, and make it here. It's an office complex, where she worked as reception/billing for an architect who is also a family friend.
So we are now camping out in the lobby, waiting for the rain to stop. Which it hasn't. It's been like two hours since this whole ordeal started, now. I have to be at band practice at six, and um... it's looking like that will not happen. We may very well be stuck here all night long if the rain doesn't stop. o.O
And this would of course be the best time for my ovaries to start trying to kill me. Clearly. I think it's probably because I'm all cold and wet, because that usually seems to induce girly cramps in me. Sigh.
Going to go find an outlet for the laptop, now. Tralala.
