Direction

Well, I can say for once in my life that I have got some solid direction. I spoke with a guy in the Creative Writing Center a couple of days ago and he's going to set me up with a few interviews for internships over the summer. This means I am actually working on what I will be doing for the rest of my life, which is pretty exciting. I also recently joined up with our campus magazine and may soon have an editorial position on their staff.
Tuesday, I was offered a management position at Jimmy John's, which I regretfully had to decline. If I am going to be working on those internships, I won't have time to be a PIC. At this juncture, school is more important than the food service industry. Too bad though; the perks are pretty good there. I can hardly believe how fast I climbed their corporate ladder; three months there and already I have had two raises and offers for middle management.
I'm fairly impressed with myself for once. I still wonder what I did to come so far in such a short time. My lifestyle hasn't changed hardly. I still go out and drink and smoke on a fairly frequent basis. I guess it's because I have surrounded myself with people who actually have some ambition for once. Jennifer is awesome and her entourage is filled with considerate forward-minded individuals. No one is holding me back anymore. I am generally happy.
Stan and I are also looking into getting a radio show together pretty soon. That would be bad ass, but I might not have time for it. We're going to kick back tonight and talk about the logistics over a handle of Vodka. Sounds promising.
