even more star wars
I took Mom to go see The Force Awakens tonight, because it's still playing in SC omg, and I think she enjoyed it. I enjoyed it! This was my fourth time, and I've read and written enough about these characters at this point that I was watching with a more or less continuous stream of meta-commentary in my head, which occasionally meant I was laughing at things that weren't actually funny. The Bigger Meaner Faster Stronger Death Star, for example, and the Resistance's five-minute planning meeting to blow it up. I guess I can see how something like that would irritate some fans, but me I mostly just love it. It's so absurd.
Anyway so yes aspects of the story in this film make me laugh even when I'm not supposed to, but I love these characters fiercely, like, meet me in the (conversation) pit if u disagree, bc i will fight anyone on this. Finn and Rey and Poe are amazing and inspirational and there's no such thing as being too invested in fictional characters, I don't know what you're talking about.
Eventually I may assemble a list of posts the good fans of Tumblr have produced on these characters, but for now just believe me when I say I'm not the only one who loves 'em something fierce.
