Made it to Glasgow! Survived making it to Glasgow! Amped up on more paracetamol, thank goodness, and I actually ate real food this evening, whee! Importantly, I was actually hungry this evening -- first time in like five days that's happened.
I'm staying with a friend of a friend, and she is wonderful, and it makes me wish 1) I felt better, 2) it wasn't pouring down rain outside, and 3) I was staying longer (esp. provided 1 and 2 also be true), because this is the most fun I've had in days.
The bus ride down was again disrupted by (the very same) whiny/fussy/outraged children, only this time I saw them at the platform and let them board first, and then sat as far away from them as possible. The views out the window were stunning, and I wish I could've gotten a decent picture, because everything was covered in snow. All of the hills and mountains and fields, so much so that at times it was hard to look at, but just gorgeous. Really, there's something extraordinary about the Highlands, and I am determined to return.
But for now, the sleepy-time effects of the medicine are kicking in, and I've still a full day of travel tomorrow -- back to Dublin -- so I'll just leave you with this note saying I made it.
scotland,
letting you know i'm alive
