travel announcement
I thought I'd updated yesterday but apparently I did not! Apologies. Big news, though! I have officially bought my tickets to Ireland! I had planned to go for a while now, but it didn't feel real, or even really possible, until yesterday when I actually spent money. Whee! And, thanks to flights being dramatically cheaper on some days rather than others (I'm talking like over a hundred dollars cheaper), I'm staying for over a month. I leave at the end of February.
What am I going to do for that month? Well I'm still figuring it out. And how am I going to afford it? Still figuring that part out, too. I'll probably do the couch-surfing thing as much as possible though, and stay at hostels the rest of the time. I think food will be my biggest expense, but I'm hoping to get some easy-to-pack things, and/or practical things, and make them last a few days at a time. My plan for this week is to figure out a reasonable budget. You should know that I've never stuck to a budget in my life. But this is probably because I've never actually, really, 100% tried. I am perfectly capable of doing it, especially if I write things down.
Anyway, yes, Ireland! Possibly Scotland too because a month can be a long time if I plan it right! And I want badly to see Scotland, even if just for a week or something.
