october gray sky

The weather changed today (thanks for the heads-up text Dad!), from sunny and balmy in the morning to rainy and increasingly chilly come afternoon. I walked down to the lake just before the rain started, for a moment fearing I'd get hit by lightning - it got really gloomy, really fast - but it was mostly just dramatic and windswept and quiet. No joggers or bikers, only a few walkers and most of them heading back. There was one man with a tiny fluffy white dog joyously bounding around the park, heedless of impending storms or the multitudes of geese grazing nearby while he stood and watched, but it's a big park - big enough for one woman to stand apart from both frantic dogs and large packs of geese and still feel some peace.

And when the rain started, I started back. It's been raining ever since.

I just saw on FB that Kathy witnessed snow and sleet today in northwest Ontario. Wow! I'm not sure I'm prepared for that yet, to be honest. Hopefully it'll be autumn in Toronto for a few more weeks yet.

weather: always exciting, autumn, toronto
