I've just finished watching the film 5 Broken Cameras, which is up for an Oscar for Best Documentary - and which you can watch in full, for now,
on YouTube here. It's an hour and a half, and I guarantee if you watch it, you won't regret taking the time.
Here's a pretty good review of the film (there's a trailer in that article, too), and then this is
an illuminating article from Haaretz, an Israeli paper, which claims the film is Israeli, not Palestinian (more thoughts on that
here). That article concludes with this probing question: "Can basic values of universal justice and democracy be upheld in the face of frequent threats against the State of Israel?"
*eyeroll*
Watch 5 Broken Cameras, and you tell me where the frequent threats are coming from, who they're directed towards.
Sigh.
