The Update.
Yes,a real update.
Basic things to catch up on:
I am still at Northumbria uni doing a communications degree.I like it but havn't been much this term,'cos I've been too ill or lazy ha. I now live in Byker in a flat I share with some people I'm not overly keen on and a girl I like but is never there.
I miss my mum,my sister and my friends from Middlesbrough very much!
Stu,Fallon,Aidan,Abi,Andrew,Sarah K and John,all make Newcastle an amazing place to live and I don't have a clue what I would do without them.
Subsequently Stu is now officially my boyfriend which occured after watching Judas Priest.Which is rather nice.
I still do the sport thing and I'm going to Switzerland next month!
Also next month I will be going to Furyfest(in France) to see some awesome bands!
I've let my purple hair dye grow out and now my hair is exactly rust coloured!
I still do the wussy vegan thing!
I spend alot of time at Hunters Moor-which is neurological Rehabilitation center.
Hunters Moor has a great American physiotherapist called David who has a massive beard.
Me and Stu are writing a zine.
I am in a band called Stabbed In The Fran.
Stabbed In The Fran is just me and Paceys' dog,Meg,at the minute.
I like drinking cider shandy as of recent.
The Last Week
Monday
On Monday after having my neck put in traction by David,I cried to him,pure crocodile tears to allow me to go to the Violent Minds gig in Boro,that Steve was putting on.
I must say it was worth it!
I missed the first band because I'd been left in charge of the directions from just after Newcastle and managed to get a little lost.
I did however catch Nothing Left who were amazing,personified in band formation.
Lee gates's(Vocalist)comment:"fuck Durham" was well justified as they(the Durham scene as such) seem to preech scene unity but hardly anyone turned up to support the gig which is rubbish beyond all belief.I can't be arsed to get involed with 'scene politics'as it all seems a bit redudant,well to me anyways.Yet I do know that if you don't support gigs then they are just going to cease to exist around you,thats just common sense and I deffinatley don't want to have no gigs to go to,no way.Also it's just shit not to help out a DIY promoter,I think so anyway..hmm.
After that Marked For Death played and I know this sounds really soppy but it really does maake me proud of how my friends have made this really great band.The Agnostic Front cover was excellent!
I was pretty dissapointed WTP pulled out but hey!
Restless youth played after that and everytime I have seen them they are just a very tight band!
Violent Minds were soo good,soo good in fact I spent £20 I don't have(lent money ha!)on a hoodie!
Tuesday
On Tuesday Stu's band,Impaled Northeaten Moon Forest where playing a gig with an anti-folk guy I'd never heard of before called Jeffrey Lewis and Dufus.
INEMF were dressed as wizards and hilarious while still very grim.For some strange reason I feel really attracted to Stu in his wizard costume,I think it's my Dungeons and Dragon geek peeking through ha.
Jeffrey Lewis was this great guy who I would totally marry.He drew his own comics and used them as part of his show(budget videos),his lyrics were soo beautfiul and heartfelt yet funny I found myself welling up with the kind of 'wow this is good I'm going to cry' tears.I can't really describe in words how amazing this guy is!I didn't care much for Dufus at all!
Wednesday
When I woke up my neck hurt real bad and I couldn't feel my right arm too well.So after much disscusion,Stu convinced me to go to the doctors,she told me to go to the hospital and I saw Dacid.He said that I was only the second person he had seen that traction had aggravated my spasm and it had caused some nerve damage.So he spent a long while getting me to describe sensastions in my arm and all that!He told me that the damage had sped up my necks reaction to the dystonia and was progressing pretty badly but was treatable.
After the hospital me and stu sat in the park while I moaned about my neck ha!
I then went back to Middlesbrough so my mam could look after me and my non functioninhg right hand(which is better now!)haha!
Thursday
I slept most of the day taking far too many painkillers.only waking up to watch flog it and Neighbours(essential viewing!)
Friday
I went to the Damage Control show in durham.I got drunk on shandy and only watch BIU and outbreak.Outbreak were not as good as I remembered.BIU were funny because Sean Redman is a legend.
After the show me,Stu,Alex,Ellie,Andrew,Chris and Chalie Wayne went to Krash I got even more drunk on two alcopops and wrote crayola rules on my arm along with ellie is a botter and I love Alex.
Stu had death to falses on his face.I'm sure if we wernt so drunk we would of felt like total idiots(like we looked)but at the time it was really funny.Plus some guy pissed himself on the dancefloor and someguy tried chatting me up with.."Do you know who I am?I play for Sunderland"He then showed me his muscles and asked if I wanted to go home with him.I thought he looked fat.
Saturday
I did alot of my xml coding for uni..what a boring day!
Today
My mum took me and my sister to the Banana Leaf for our lunch,I must of ate my body weight in seaweed and rice with soy sauce mmmmm!
My mum also bought me a new bra which does't quite fit but I'm keeping it anyway as it fits better than most and looks half decent.
Tomrrow I'm going back to Newcastle as I have to go to hospital from 11am till at the earliest 5pm.
I'm having a bladder scan then getting seen by a fair few doctors and physiotherapists to try and assess how they are going to treat me now I've gotten worse.
Stu's comming with me to provide some enterainment and to protect me from the herd of cows that lick the windows near the consulting rooms!It's near some fields haha!
On Wednesday I'm going to Bradford to see a band called Rambo.I'm dressing up as an helicopter woooooooo!
