Sun Stand Still Review

Book Review of Sun Stand Still

This book was the most moving Christian non-fiction book that I have received by any publisher to review for the entire year.  I have had it for less than two months or so, and it is already growing dog-eared, and my church's college Bible study group will be going through it on my enthusiastic recommendation.

I'm not sure that many Christians could read this book with an open heart and walk away unchanged.  It is power undiluted, the stuff of equipping people to change the world and be changed by God.  This is faith-building, fear eschewing, life-giving truth in a compelling format by author Steve Furtick, the founder and lead pastor of Elevation Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, one of the fastest-growing churches in the world.

This book made me cry.  This book made me laugh.  I have been so moved by it that it has truly increased my walk with God and continues to impact me for the better.  Hopefully it will have this affect on my college classmates as well.  I can't get enough of it, and moreso the truth within it that points toward God and His strength, power and grace.

Later note: This book remains one of my favourite books that I have ever reviewed.  Now stained from where I spilled coffee on its pages, my college group is going through this book and loving it, and I still bring it to college most every day in my backpack.  By all means, read this book.  It might just change your life.

Another note: I can't say enough about this book!  One of my friends as well as myself have lately been using chapters of this book on which to base studies for our church's youth group, of which we are youth leaders.  This book's message is a great fit for the youth!

Disclosure: I received this book for free from the WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review in return for my honest review.
