modest variety

Since clothing is a mode of self-expression, there are several different styles of clothing within the modest community.  Some people prefer to layer their clothing.  Others like clothes crafted after costumes or with historical influences; some prefer to make their own clothes, and still others prefer to wear tunics and longer skirts or loose pants.  Young women all over the world dress in particular fashions of modest clothing.  Some do this because it is socially acceptable or because it is required of them due to their country of residence, but many do so because it suits them, personally.

Most people wear a variety of different modest clothing, and most everybody has their own signature way of dressing.  It has come to my attention that the middle-eastern or long-skirt style of modest wear is the preference of some, and that it might be helpful to have some inexpensive resources at one's fingertips.  Although that is not my personal preference of modest attire, I am not against anybody wearing it.  On the contrary, it makes me think of Lady Marian in the Holy Lands, walking along white sand.

My modest fashion sense aligns more along the lines of classic wear, and costume-themed outfits (the late 1700s and early 1800s and the medieval and renniasance days being the most plentiful sources of inspiration, as well as the 1940s).  I usually wouldn't wear a floor-length skirt unless it went along with a historical theme.  However, a friend of mine recently asked where people find the tunics/longer skirts/etc.  Given that one individual was curious, I'm assuming there must be more in search of resources.  So let's see what I can find!
