I got some new glasses to use at work -- for staring at the computer all day. They have a slight magnification and they look great, but man, it's hard to get used to looking through something. I figure it will take a few weeks before they really settle in. It's just weird to feel them on my face and see them in front of my eyes. The doctor says that since I am entering my mid-30s, my eyesight will likely got to shit like my mom's and I'll need bifocals by the time I'm 40. Thanks, I needed that. Way to be optimistic. . .
Meanwhile, I am not doing well on my road to muscle sculpture. I have been walking around quite a bit lately, but I haven't managed to go to the gym since Thanksgiving. I am a bit displeased at the new class schedule. They got rid of a dance class I really liked. And there is still nothing interesting on Wed. nights. I missed last night's spin class on account of the fact that
chaneybear and I were volunteering at a cocktail do put on by the Ballet boosters. It was worth it -- the venue was great, food was amazing, the drinks were delish, and
chaneybear won a sweet spa gift package that includes a $125 gift certificate. I am thinking we need a girlie spa day soon. I plan to buy myself a massage.
My gym membership is up this month and I need to go in and see what sort of offer they will make to keep me there. The good thing is that I can use 5 other gyms, 2 of which would be near my new home, or in the City anyway. And the one I use now is very near the office. So I can't say it's out of my area or hard to get to -- that excuse won't fly.
Talked to MLS on the phone last night as he was shuttling from the office to home to work some more. Still suffering jet lag and the headache of moving. Seems the guy moving out didn't get around to repainting the room, so they are doing together it this weekend. He was so sweet -- he said how amazing and great I was for putting up with his crazy schedule. I told him it was no biggee, I know how stressed out he is, I'm mellow, I don't require major plans, just wanna hang out together when he has some free time. So Sat. night or Sun. is the plan. I might offer to come up and cook him dinner. I'm sure his roommates could use some girl-made cuisine. And I want to test out my new fondue pot. A little melted cheese, some fresh bread and sausages, a nice bottle of wine, something yummy for dessert. . . perfect stress reliever.
