Less Agony. . .

Seems I may have popped a rib head out of alignment, which sounds really gross, but isn't apparently as bad as it seems and will likely go back in on it's own with the help of rest, stretching, Advil, heat, cold, rolling around on a tennis ball, and more Advil.  I am feeling much better now after my treatment Monday night and getting all "pokey and holey" as my friend N says.  It is always a little intense with muscle treatments involving the electrode therapy.  These sorts of sessions tend to hurt more and be more "active" insofar as I'm not laying there in the dark being all mellow with the needles and meditating, but rather actively trying to breath through pain and relax the area in question as electricity is coursing through the points placed here and there in a steady rhythm.  At times it can be painful as muscles twitch and spasm in their effort to release tension and more than once S had to adjust the flow of electricity to lower levels because it was just too much for me to handle.  Of course, the more intense the treatment, the more wired I get, so I didn't fall asleep till 5am that night.  There I am watching X-Files reruns on the couch wondering when I will finally feel sleepy.  At 5am, I still wasn't tired, but I figured watching Scully and Dogget hunt for Mulder for one more hour wasn't going to help me fall asleep any more than the past 4 hrs of watching them run around had, so I went to bed and laid in the dark and counted sheep instead.  Tuesday was a bit of a blur to say the least.

Things are much better now, and I'm much perkier, but a bit tired from sitting in my supposedly ergonomic office chair all day.  A coworker shared some cool drugs he got in the UK with me.  Seems our enlightened relatives over the pond sell aspirin and ibuprofen over the counter with codeine.  So when he was over there a couple weeks ago, he stocked up.  I'm a little drowsy, but blissfully pain-free.  I'm thinking we start getting our traveling coworkers to mule for us when they make overseas trips.  A few bottles here and there in checked bags shouldn't raise any alarm bells with Customs. . . Seriously, this shit rocks!  The one bummer on the aspirin ones is they are kinda large tablets, and they aren't coated.  This means they get stuck going down.  Solution -- chew them.  Tastes kinda yucky, but with some juice to swig, you don't really notice and they dissolve really fast.  And the bonus is that they hit your system and get working that much faster.  Woo hoo hoo!  My folks are going to Canada in a week where they can pick some up so I've placed my order.  This whole thing reminds me of Elaine and the sponges.

TV season is starting up again and I got my Thursday night dilemna under control.  Bought the splitter last night and reworked the Tivo and VCR arrangement so that I can get CSI and Grey's Anatomy covered.  Whew!  I swear, it's the dumbest move ABC ever made putting GA up against CSI.  They are really screwing that show over bigtime and it's really unfair.  Not sure why they haven't grasped the idea that there are people out there that would be fans of both shows and that if forced to choose between the two, would have to pick the one they've been watching longer -- CSI.  But now I don't have to choose, I can get both.  Yay!  And a very good premier night last night with Criminal Minds and CSI: NY, I must say.  No major cast shake-ups and everything got off to a good rolling start.  Meanwhile, we're coming up to the season finales of the Stargates this week which should be memorable.  I should have lots of fun stuff to watch this weekend while I continue to recuperate.
