UNC: The university with no real professors

Jan 13, 2006 20:01

Well, my sociology professor is an idiot, so I got out of class, once again, half an hour before my next class begins. She informed us today that she just got her BS in Sociology last year, so this is her first year in grad school. That makes a lot of sense to me because she really has no idea what she is doing. It's rather annoying. She taught us for about 10 minutes today before we got in groups, of ten, for that matter. I don't know about you, but groups of ten are not exactly the most effective for working together. We had to go around and tell "get to know you" facts about ourselves to our group members and I could only hear the people who were sitting wthin three seats of myself. I felt like I was in elementary school again, or something to that effect. It was rediculous. I am a bit concerned about her tests because she claims that she is going to test us off of her lectures, and so far, she has not really taught us anything. It is so frustrating! At least I have made some friends already because the people around me share the same disgust at her teaching style as I do. This is going to be an interesting semester. So I have ranted and raved now for a huge paragraph when I was only planning on writing a little bit, just enough to kill some time before my next class. I guess this class really bothers me. But, in retrospect, it is only one class and all the other classes I am taking this semester so far have been very enjoyable. I guess there has to be a balance. Well, I suppose I will head to my next class now.
