Sooo... in a truly shameful bit of self-indulgence, I decided to take some time and retype the letter of Rec that my University Supervisor wrote for my Department of Defense application. (He sent me a copy of it.)
This was the "frank statement" he was supposed to make at the end of filling in a lot of bubbles
I found Angie to be an exceptional student teaching candidate. She was thorough in her preparation, well-versed in the material she was teaching, and gave clear, concise directions. Her lessons were extremely well organized and full of imaginative and creative ideas.
Her flair for dramatic presentation grasped the attention of the students. Her innovative approaches successfully held their attention throughout the lessons. She solicited student response with ease and was able to compel extensive and continual student involvement.
She respected the students and they respected her, worked well for her and responded positively to her expectations. They wanted to learn from her and she set them up for success.
Her clear, concise directions, her attention to administrative detail, her excellent organizational skills and her firm demeanor when necessary, eliminated the need for much negative discipline. It was obvious Angie enjoyed teaching and the students enjoyed learning from her.
