Okay, so I was watching The X-Files with Brian (as has become our nightly ritual), and one of my favorite episodes, Detour, came on. I looked at one of the guys and went "He looks so familiar... It's MARK!" I looked it up on IMDB, and lo and behold... Anthony Rapp, who played Mark in both the Broadway and film versions of Rent was in one of my very favorite episodes of the X-Files! But the fun doesn't stop there... I was like "The only way I could love him more now is if he'd done a stage version of Rocky Horror." I decided to read his IMDB mini-bio, and what did I find, but he'd starred in the Pittsburgh version of Hedwig and the Angry Inch! It's not Rocky Horror, but damn if it isn't just as awesome!
I decided I had to see pictures of him as Hedwig, but couldn't find anything bigger than a thumbnail. I decided to check YouTube, and so far haven't had any luck. BUT, I did find a performance at the Korean Music Awards of some Korean guys doing Hedwig, and damn if it isn't awesome (okay, so skip past "Origin of Love" because that guy sucked, but the other two were still aweseome). And thus, I share my joy with my faithful readers!
