Normies and Nerdies
I often get confused over the normal versus nerd reading of terms. Three recent examples:
Subject of email from Therese: Amazon Under Threat
Me: Yea, not surprising. Digital books are on the way in and they might not be as profitable as paper ones. *clicks through*
Email: River Amazon under threat from dam project.
Me: The Anglo Irish bank interview was in some unmarked building on Baggot St.
Seamus: Yea, it's in some old school building.
Me: Didn't look like a school, more like an office block.
Seamus: Haha, no I meant an old-school building, like old fashioned. Old skool.
Therese: You've given me that virus too.
Me: Oh, sorry, I'm sick, I think I've given it to our lodger too.
Therese: No, the one with pop-up windows. I mean my computer has that virus you were saying you have.
