Still blogging... sort of hungry...

Nov 13, 2008 11:00

So it's official - Caitlin and I have purchased tickets for the 10:15pm showing of Twilight on November 21st.  I'm feeling a special sort of mixed bag of embarrassed, excited, and hard. core. terrified.

Embarrassed: Because I can't believe I'm actually going on opening night.  But... but... the fangirls are going to be sooooo entertaining!  I hope they scream, I really do.  Really.

Excited: Because of the aforementioned fangirls.  Have you guys read about this Mall Tour they've done with the actors from the movie?  At a poster signing with RPattz (Robert Patterson) in San Fransisco, there were - I'm not exaggerating - 6,000 people.  People were trampled.  A girl broke her nose when pushed into the door by the people behind her.  These people are nutjobs.  If you ask me, the bulk of the entertainment from this evening will be before the movie begins.

Terrified: Um, did you read about what I just wrote about riots?  I am way too young to be trampled, and I am certainly way too old to be trampled by 14 year olds.  I mean, you have to google this shit to believe it.

Of course, this pretty much goes without saying:  I will be intoxicated for this process.  I get off work around 7pm, will be immediately heading over to the movie theatre (which, by the way, is located in Times Square, specifically selected for maximum fangirl squee-age) to pick up my tickets, and then, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, I will be drinking.  And I don't mean sipping a beer, I mean tossin' shots.  Hellz yeah.

Also, I do think that the movie looks significantly better than the book, possibly because I won't be distracted the whole time by horrifyingly bad writing.  Or who knows - maybe I will be.  Oh, whatever.

Anyway, if you got through all that, kudos.  In other news, I  have yet another date tonight, different guy, the aforementioned investment banker (ugh).  Hope he's more interesting than his career.  However, he's taking me to a super fancy restaurant.  I'm assuming he'll be paying, because Lord knows, if he wants to split I'll be there all night washing dishes to pay off the meal.

It's almost the weekend - praise God!

only me, caitlin, twilight, dating, wtf?
