Update
Maya's friend Phoenix came to collect her. Well, he says to call him Nick. It's a weight off my mind to see that young girl taken care of. He might not look too sturdy, but Nick has a good, strong heart I think. Perhaps in a place like this, will is more important than physical strength.
I keep trying to get information about this place from people, but no one seems to know what is going on. I haven't seen anyone except for Maya and Nick, but something interesting happened. It appears that that wizard and the ninja that I sent off to travel with those children are here. Fye and Kurogane. I don't know where they are right now, but I've tried to make contact with Fye. Though I doubt he would use his magic to find a way out. And there's nothing he could pay me to give him his markings back. Not that it matters...they are in my shop anyway.
I think there is some sort of mage in the church in the center of the city. When I came here, I heard voices. It sounded like a lot of them, but one all at once. He seems powerful, but I'm not sure what he draws his strength from. I'm hoping that the gate out of this world isn't anywhere near that church. But I can't find it on my own, and I had my last reading interrupted.
I'm thinking of granting wishes while I am here. The shop I found here would work well for storing payment, and it seems serviceable enough. It's roof is intact and there is some furniture around that still looks stable. Who knows? Maybe someone will wish us out of here and actually be able to pay enough. This limitation is frustrating. I'm aware that without limitations, there is chaos, but this place seems to be wrecking havoc with my magic enough. It bothers me. But I can still do my work. That will never change.
