The aftermath of Alexander Robotnick

When you try to be a musical column of knowledge it's rare that you seriously get schooled in anything. Last night I went to the Oslo expecting to hear something in the context of the DJ Hell Electrodisco history lesson I got burned by Eric. I got schooled by the "Godfather" as Ed put it. Robotnick was nothing short of incredible. Live keyboard solos and incredibly swanky vocals made this set unforgetable. Don't know how long it went but me and Ed checked out at three. Robotnick was the first and the greatest, you know the current condition of music must give the man an ego complex.
Saw the girlie from Ectomorph as well as that fashion design chick she chills with. If I was in a different mind frame I would have started to get to know her but sonic bliss and dark smokey clubs can make for so many obsticles. Saw Jade who says she's moving to France for a couple of years. Zana and all my favorite club hoochies were in attendance. Went with Josh, Jenny, Andy, Ed, and Garret if I remember correctly. I missed out on the pixie dust so I was so tired/ emotionaly tramatized from being canned earlier that day. Carl Craig rocked the jazz better than I've ever herd previous and Ed's smile was ear to ear.
It's wierd when you see every one emotionaly stressing and trying to hold it together. We are all so labored by the financial stress of the Bush administration yet we all pull together as this family of runaways. "God's unwanted children", to quote Fightclub (something I have to stop doing). I can feel all the stress of my aquaintances and we all deal with it or don't deal with it differently. This life is so full of pain and beauty, yet peace is such a mystery. If I ever get out of this hole I'm in I'll "be a changed man" thats for sure.
