Forbidden Island Event - Part 1-A!

Who: Malek, Amanda, Mari B., Joseph, Genesis...and anyone else who might be near them?

What: The Nexus has changed completely into an island, surrounded by very vast ocean! Our heroes have various reactions to this.

Where: At what was once Mari’s house she shares with Malek, Amanda, and Joseph. It is has DISAPPEARED. *gasssp!*

When: Late morning

Letting out a worried whinny, a certain rainbow colored horse was struggling to get up, being covered from head to tail in sand, barley able to move about. He snorts and whinnies again, as his ears swivel about on his head, listening for any signs of life.

Taggin' with Mari again, for now. The next time I see my friend Linden online...

Mari thought she heard distant sounds of water, and birds. She knew she was in what looked like some kind of jungle area.

Then she thought she heard a familiar horse whinny. Starlite! Weiss, Xargin's mare, whinnied less. Xargin... No, Don't think about him.

She was already moving toward where she heard him. What about everyone else?!

Calm down. Calm down. Can't go around freaking out so much, or else the nanobots will try and take over.

Joseph, and Malek... I think I can still sense them. Mari mentally honed in on her cyborg side to detect the emotions of the other Amalgam hybrids like herself. Yeah, I can! Malek's so scared, and Joseph's confused for the most part. They're together.

"I'm coming, Starlite! Don't worry," she called out to the poor horse, who must also be so confused and worried. As she reached what looked like a beach, she saw him sort of buried in sand. Mari ran over to help, pushing and brushing handfuls of sand off the horse's body.

Did you miss me?

Starlite snorted and balked at the sand being moved from his body, as his ears swiveled about, as he struggled in the sand.

Urrfh...urrrgh...if only he hadn't fallen for the "Hey, lay here! It's nice and peaceful here!" look of the land, then he wouldn't have been in this predicament!

"It's okay, it's okay," she soothed to Starlite. "You're almost free."

Once she cleared enough sand for him to stand on his own, she stood up and moved back to give him room.

I hope everyone else is here, safe. God... Why is this happening? Is this a bad dream or something? I wish it was!

Struggling out of the sand, Starlite shook his body to try and remove the dust, as he bonked his nose against Mari, whinnying slightly. He glanced back at the hole and to her a few times, trying to decide if this was all a dream or if this was actually happening.

Mari moved back to be close to him. She comforted Starlite as she moved a hand up and down soothingly down his big nose.

"I don't know what's going on either, but stuff just got serious... Hoping everyone else is still around." She nodded, determined. "We should start looking for them."

Starlite whinnied at the idea, as he nudged Mari with his nose, as his rainbow colored tail flicked about behind him.

He then swiveled his head about, glanced over his shoulder, and then nudged her again.

Mari couldn't help but smile a little at Starlite's enthusiasm. Being around him lessened the stress a notch.

"All right, let's go then." Mari pauses a bit and faces in one direction. She can sense the presences of two who are part Amalgam cyborg, like she is. "Joseph and Malek should be somewhere that way. I know, because the few perks of having nano-bots is being able to pinpoint the location of other Amalgams, drones and hybrids like me altogether."

She starts to head east, expecting Starlite to follow.

Starlite does, indeed, follow her, only to glance over his shoulder, ears swiveling about, as he froze, did an about face, and stared off into the distance, ears swiveling around on his neck, soon swiveling back on his head.

She heard Starlite's footfalls come to a stop.

Mari looks behind her. "What is it that you see?" She'll try to follow the direction of his gaze to see it too.

Bwuhahahaha, I had to.

Starlite stepped closer to the area, ears swiveling about on his head, as he leaned closer, balking at the sudden flight of birds, as he reared, whinnied and stumbled backwards slightly.

Poor Starlite. He must still be so jumpy about everything changing all of a sudden.

She walks on over to calm her friend. "Easy now. Calm down." She began to move her hand along the side of his neck soothingly.

"Yes, but...I know there's something down there..." Starlite muttered under his breath, as he swivels his ears on his head, as he lifted his head, huffing through his nose slightly.

Mari wasn't very surprised when Starlite spoke--only a little. "It's been so long since I saw that cartoon... So, I thought right the first time." She smiled a bit and looked at him curiously. "Why didn't you say anything from before? Around Al and me? You're not the first animal who's been around capable of human speech."

"Well, I didn't want to spook him more than he already seemed to be." Starlite snorted, shaking his head from side to side, as he then whinnied at her. "...there are *OTHERS* here who can talk like me?"

"Not much spooks Al. But I guess because how I knew him was kind of an overload... it wouldn't have done much good to have started speaking then."

Mari understood that logic very well. She smiled a bit sadly.

"Not other horses, but I haven't seen the talking squirrel, raccoon, lion cub, and meerkat lately. I know Toboe--who's this young wolf--is back in his world.

"Maybe Hammy, RJ, Timon, and Simba are back in their own worlds as well. It's been a few months since the last time I saw any of them."
