You never know when you might need to kill someone.

First of all,

FINALLY

So... I was crying within the first 5 minutes of this damn show.

Thoughts:

Merlin saves Arthur with magic in front of everyone without a second thought. Someone coming after him? Nope.

Arthur's face when he saw that Merlin was injured :(

Arthur helping Merlin walk so they could hide and Merlin would be safe. The looks Arthur kept giving Merlin where he was clearly worried as hell about him.

The boys joking around but then Arthur was completely serious when he said that Merlin was a good servant and that he wasn't a coward, but brave and loyal. Arthur has grown so much over these couple of years. And, God, Merlin just wants to be appreciated by Arthur and not be thought of as a complete idiot. I would have been happy with just that little conversation for this episode. To see Arthur being honest and not covering it up with a joke right after. And when he looked at Merlin's wound, it looked like he was trying not to cry. If Morgana hadn't healed him, would he have even made it?

And then in the morning, Arthur carried Merlin on his shoulder while Merlin was telling him to leave him but Arthur was like 'uh huh, sure' because neither of them ever listen.

Then the part that made me burst into tears, when Arthur put Merlin down to fight off a baddie but it turned out there were a bunch of them so Merlin makes rocks fall to block them from Arthur and save him while trapping himself with them. Arthur screaming 'Merlin!' still brings tears to my eyes. It was just so desperate and emotional. I had to pause for a couple minutes because my eyes were all watery and I couldn't see my screen. I know that scene had been in the promos, but with context it had a MUCH bigger impact.

'Arthur is strangely fond of the boy.'

Morgana knows Arthur likes Merlin, but doesn't know why. She knows Merlin is incredibly loyal to Arthur, but doesn't know why. Gurl, are you blind?!

Merlin gets Goa'ulded by Morgana. That was so gross. But great/horrible scene between them.

I love that Arthur doesn't give up and when his people can't find anything, he has to go back out. Because he's king, he's freaking king, but he still needs to look for his missing servant. Also loved George being so proper and efficient and Arthur not liking it one bit.

Damn straight, Gwaine better be helping. I'm all about the Arthur/Merlin, but Gwaine is his friend too, dammit.

And the hug, or the 'embrace' as it is known. I loved that Arthur was so damn happy to see Merlin alive and well. I loved that Arthur was the one to hug Merlin. I loved that Arthur hugged Merlin even though he was completely covered in mud. I loved Arthur's face while he hugged Merlin and how he brought his face into Merlin's neck/hair. Reminded me of the Jack/Daniel 'spacemonkey' hug from SG1. The only thing thing I'm bummed about is that Merlin doesn't remember it. And it could always have been longer. On the plus side, Gwaine was a witness so if Merlin ever asks, Arthur can't deny it or brush it off like it didn't happen. Maybe it can even happen again.

Merlin being so OOC was pretty dang funny and again, all the awards to Colin. He's fantastic at drama and comedy. I loved how he acted so jealous when Gwen was doing his duties. Or how when he actually told Leon that he was going to kill Arthur, Leon just laughed and was like 'he's driving you mad?' even though that's his KING he's supposed to be protecting. Like no one could ever believe Merlin would do anything to Arthur even though they annoy the crap out of each other in a best-friends-who-are-in-love-with-each-other kind of way.

And Arthur coming out for his bath naked, fully expecting Merlin to be there. I know Merlin helps dress Arthur and pours his bath water, but now we know Arthur is pretty damn comfortable just being naked in Merlin's presence. Arthur's awkward walking away bit was hilarious too.

However, a part of me can't help but be sad by the fact that Arthur was being genuinely caring and telling Merlin that he's the only person he trusts (and that's including his uncle, people he's probably known since he was born, his knights) and just opening up to him and Merlin won't be able to remember any of it.

I'm glad Arthur finally started being suspicious of his uncle. And all by himself too!

Colin as Merlin as Dragoon is hilarious. Messing with the knights like that. That's what they get for pretending they ate all the food. They become steps to help an old man onto a horse.

The few things really bugging me would be, why did no one tell Arthur that Morgana did this? Why say Merlin was in the tavern when Arthur already knows Morgana is evil? I really hope Arthur doesn't believe this whole tavern crap. It's just... Arthur, knowing Merlin, should know better. Also, I guess Arthur was just so happy to see Merlin alive, but he was pretty much dying the last time Arthur saw him. Wouldn't that seem a little odd to you? But you know what? I hardly care. I hardly care because this series has been fantastic so far. I'm a little worried because things can't continue to be this good, can they? I'm such a pessimist lol.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is:

That and Tumblr is hilarious right now. I love being a Merlin fan.
