So, I just watched about 8 hours of the Drake & Josh marathon and I'm about to spend another hour watching 'Really Big Shrimp' for the second time ^_^ It's a good day.
Ya know, I'm starting to like Josh's new hair.
So, about the 'movie,'
One thing- why didn't they air this 'movie' as the series finale? It would have wrapped up everything so nicely. Drake gets a record deal; Josh and Mindy get back together; the Premiere semi-blows up; etc.
Some quick thoughts on the 'movie':
- Drake firing Josh was painful to watch.
- But I loved Drake and Josh sleeping on the same mattress, and Drake waking up with Josh's foot in his face.
- Craig and Eric are still an old married couple.
- I love the way Josh says "gentle society," but unfortunately it's followed by Drake calling him a loser.
- I loved Josh threatening the shrimp ("Tell your friends!"), and then telling the lady to forget them and just go.
- Josh switched the CDs :)
- Josh pulling Drake in from the window, throwing him on the couch, laying on him, telling him "not to spoil the moment," them singing together (Drake put his hand on Josh when singing the lyrics "I'm so glad that you're mine"), the hugging, the playful hitting that led to the slap fight (I love the slap fights so much) <3 <3 <3
- Crazy Steve can't work on Mondays, but nobody told Mindy that XD Josh singing to/with Steve and then hugging him was cute. I <3 Crazy Steve.
- Drake got the record deal and Josh is still his manager!!!! (knuckle touch)
- Mindy saying that "she gets to be the girlfriend" was really cute, and then Josh got the GOLD VEST!!
- Drake dedicated the song to Helen, her husband, and Josh <3
- Drake and Josh fighting over the shrimp (as well as grabbing and groping each other) and then the clip of them from the Amanda Show fighting over the shrimp. Brilliant. Especially if that clip really did give Dan the idea to give them their own show. Makes sense to make a special deal out of it. I know I'll never look at shrimp the same way again. Too bad I hate seafood =D

http://poisonivory.livejournal.com/275229.html ETA: According to
TVGuide.com, "Friday night's premiere of Drake & Josh: Really Big Shrimp delivered 5.8 million total viewers, making it the most-watched TV-movie in Nickelodeon history. It also marked the cabler's best performance with tweens age 9 to 14, bringing in 2.3 million of 'em.
Nick's previous record holder was 2006's Drake & Josh Go Hollywood, which Really Big Shrimp bested by six percent in total viewers."
