Yesterday, I going to have my memory tested by a guy in informatics, who wanted to see if there was a correlation between ability to solve a Rubik's Cube, and spatial memory. We were supposed to meet in the Appleton Tower foyer, and I was a little early, so I put my bag and jacket on the chair, got a cup of coffee, and came back while playing with a 7x7x7 cube (wasn't sure what the guy looked like, so it seemed like the best way to announce myself).

Anyway, he arrived on time, we went upstairs and had a quick chat, then he gave me a form to fill in (name, DoB etc.), and I fished inside my pencil case to find my fountain pen, in order to complete the form. Pen wasn't there. Where was it I thought? Oh yes! My jacket. Where's my jacket?

So, at a meeting to test my memory, I managed to forget my jacket in the AT foyer. I went down to retrieve it (luckily it was still there), but then when I got back I forgot to use my own pen, and ended up using an ordinary biro to sign my name. I'm sure there's some irony in that tale.

Later on, I was getting some stuff for my party tonight (I'm having a party tonight, since it was my 30th birthday in December and the timing was all wrong for a party then -- in case people hadn't heard, and felt like coming along), and on my Way to Sainsbury's, we stopped at the crossing next to a woman with a small dog. The dog looked at me in a scared kind of way. "Oh don't mind her, she's a rescue dog, and she's really nervous of strangers" said the woman. I knelt down, and almost immediately the dog was clambering over to me, standing up and licking my face.

So, either that dog has a funny way of showing her nerves, or I seem to be rather good with dogs!
