Major update

likeneontubing thinks I don't post often enough. Hey, I do 3-4 posts a month, what do you people want from me?!

Anyway, my dissertation is done, I was a mere 10 minutes after the deadline, but the maths secretary was still there, so I got away with it. Not bad considering I had to get to Heriot Watt Uni from Portobello, via King's Buildings, deal with a printer that refused to do single sided, and wait for buses.

My dissertation was entitled "Culling and the Perturbation Effect: Potential implications of behavioural responses to disease management". I was trying to use a stochastic spatial SI model to find if I could replicate the results of the RBCT, where they found culling badgers increased TB infection rates in nearby cattle populations. Unfortunately, I didn't quite manage this, but at least I was able to show that badger behaviour is very likely to be affected by culling. Yes, this may sound obvious, but demonstrating it isn't as easy. By the way, written in LaTeX, and printed out in colour, the dissertation looked pretty awesome if I may say so myself.

As for the exam results, I averaged 82%, and my lowest mark was 66% (my only B!). I could be on for a distinction here!

While not trying for a record stint at university, I've been wading my way through NCIS with Jules, been told by a masseur that I shouldn't be screaming that way when she tried to fix the knots in my shoulders (apparently my posture is really bad, and my shoulders and neck muscles are very tight), and made my way onto level 25 of Deadly Rooms of Death.

Well, that's it for the next week or so. I'm technically free right now, so I'm trying to make it out more often than before.

health, dissertation, games
