Heya everyone. Sorry for taking so long to post an actual update, but better late than never.
So, school has been in session for over 2 weeks now. I'm pretty happy with all of my classes, even though I'm sure that I'm going to hate Accounting by the end of the semester. It's definitely not what I thought it was going to be. You see, I'm pretty good at math, having taken courses as high up as Calc 3 and Differential Equations. Because of this history of math, I thought that taking accounting, a class that sounds like simple addition and subtraction, would be a great idea. You can imagine my dismay when the teachers first words were "This is not a course that requires a lot of math." Instead, we're learning how to do the book keeping involved in accounting, and how to make all the different tables and list we record our data on.
Besides that class though, my other classes (Ecology, Acting for the Camera, and Chorus) are turning out to be pretty fun. In Chorus this semester, our last "project" is a performance of the complete Messiah. I've sung parts of it before, but this will be my first time ever doing the complete piece. Should be a lot of fun.
Last week were auditions for the show this semester. We're doing "The Mouse That Roared." I'm really excited about this show, because it will mark my first time as an actual lead. In the past shows that I've done here at BCC, I've had decent parts, but never one that you could write down on a reference list and have someone know the character you're talking about. This semester though, I am playing Professor Kokintz.
"The Mouse That Roared" is about a small country that is going bankrupt because their main export (pomegranate wine) is now being produced by a company in California. In order to rebuild their economy, the small country decides to declare war on America, knowing how America paid reparations to Germany and Japan after they lost the WW2. Well, the country wanted to surrender to America, but ends up possibly winning the war after they steal the Q-Bomb, which my character created. What happens at the end of the play? Well, I don't know yet, haven't read that far ahead, so I guess we'll all have to find out later, lol.
The show is going up on the last 2 weekends of October, and I'll post again in the future to remind you all about it. It would be great to see you all at the show.
Well, I gotta get to bed now, Accounting is at 10am. See you all later!
