What a great last week before school
I have ridden my bikes tons. Joined a water aerobics class that is not only fun but is full of positive women I think I would like to spend more time with. I even got a scholarship for it! I sewed some stuff with bean. I have been walking to the park a lot too to look at the city at dusk. It’s so nice. I let Mochi run wild and Bean play on the play structures. It’s nice to be outside, except when its so damn hot. Word on the street is that it is supposed to cool way down tomorrow. I will enjoy that. I received my financial aid, and while it is devastatingly $2004 short, I am still thankful to finally be back on a regular budget. I am thinking about all kinds of creative ways to get some money together for this year’s endeavors. I just went and bought a ton of food. Now there will be three people in the house packing lunches everyday. Hooray for school!
Last night I went to a party with some good friends. There were so many types of people at the party, it was fun to just listen. I spoke with a woman who spent two years in Israel doing environmental science work, a Norwegian sociologist, a girl from Jersey, some political filmmakers, and some other nice random folks. My friend
jet and I talked plenty about the lack of support for sexual assault survivors in the area and some ideas about what we could do about it. I have been thinking about that a lot since last night. I wish more people in Portland thought about these issues instead of looking the other way.
I won't be posting much again, but than again I don't post much stuff in this journal that is too exciting. I have some stuff coming up to write about and I will post some of the stuff I am writing for my zine here, but until then I will be reading all about you!
Tomorrow I start my senior year.
Holy buckets!
